What college requirements would I need to become a "rancher"?
I'm 19 years old...just starting 2nd semester in college...already have 22 credits...but my major is still undeclared...I just want to own a working ranch someday like my uncle...What should I staudy/change my major to, to be able to acomplish this? Are there certain certifications? What other similar jobs are there to ranching? I do not care if I make "bank" or not, but I would really love to live on my own nice chuck of property and have a nice house and horses etc...NOT looking for sarcastic/rhetorical answers EX: (it's hard work don't bother since you weren't brought up in that kind of life style) I did high school rodeo and have done the "dirty ranch work" on our own and other ranches, because I have asked them to let me do what they would be required to do daily. I'll admit it isn't fun most of the time (i only do it 3 months every year) but when I get to hop on my horse and ride till I get to our little cabin to stay at and hunt, it makes it worth it...if you have genuine experience, your imput is preferred. Thank ya (sorry for the short story)
