Young Pseudotropheus socolofi different sizes?

I have 14 baby Pseudotropheus socolofi. Some are about 2 1/2", and some are about 1 1/2". Are the larger ones the males, and the smaller ones the females? They are all brothers and sisters from the same hatch.
