Is going to another school next year a good idea?

ok this might sound silly but i have the option to go to another public school next year for free (i go to a public school already). but at my current school i don't talk to anyone, i don't really have a lot of friends and im with the same people i have known forever. i really want to go to a new school and meet new kids because the new kids i meet don't know me or anything about me. my parents said i cant run away from my problems but i don't see the big deal, do you? the main thing is is that i might make varsity swimming next year (as a sophmore) but i dont want to be a jock wearing a jacket and having no friends or a social life =/ . becuase in the movies the jocks are the cool kids but i can't be one in my current school.
